Armstrong senior Tanner Holte, one of Robbinsdale Area Schools’ remarkable students, has learned the value of using time wisely.

“Somebody told me once that the busiest people are the ones who find the most time,” he says. “I don’t have a lot of time to waste, so I ‘m not used to wasting it. I jump from one thing to the next.”

He certainly does – in addition to being ranked first in his class and maintaining a 4.0 GPA, the National Merit Semifinalist plays soccer, tennis and enjoys skiing. His passion is Alpine skiing, and he relishes the challenge of being under the lights, just him and the course.

“If I have time, I’m skiing,” he says. “I have more fun when I work hard. I go out early, I go out extra days a week. I want to get better, and that’s what allows me to.”

That work ethic has paid off in many ways. In his freshman year, Tanner was one of three students who were moved into the first Advance Placement class for freshmen, joining juniors and seniors. He earned top scores on the tests, and it’s one of his proudest academic moments, he says.

Tanner plans to attend Iowa State next year and major in computer engineering. Armstrong Principal David Dahl describes Tanner as “a very talented young man who has demonstrated the highest possible academic achievement” while at the school.

Tanner is Robbinsdale. At Robbinsdale Area Schools, we value the differences that make all of our students unique. We approach our work with individual focus on each and every student’s infinite potential.

At Robbinsdale Area Schools, we invite all students to make their mark. Just like Tanner. We are Robbinsdale Remarkable. #RASRemarkable
