School Board Director Johnson Selected to All State School BoardLinda Johnson, Treasurer of the Robbinsdale Area School Board, has been named to the Minnesota School Board Association (MSBA) All State School Board. This is the highest honor in the state that can be bestowed upon a public school board member. Out of approximately 350 school districts in the state, each with six to seven members, only six school board members receive the award each year.
Director Johnson has served on the Robbinsdale Area School Board for nearly eleven years. During her tenure on the board, Linda has served in various capacities, including Chair, Vice-Chair and Treasurer. She is active in many other school organizations, including the district’s Financial Advisory Council, Interschool Council, Robbinsdale Area Schools Redesign, and the Board Policy and Results Committee. She is also currently serving as the Robbinsdale Area Schools representative on the Association of Metropolitan School Boards (AMSD). She has completed over 500 hours of MSBA training, has fully participated in nearly every learning opportunity provided by MSBA, and has also been a trainer for MSBA. In addition, she served on the board for Intermediate School District 287 for nine years, which included terms as Clerk, Vice-Chair, and Chair. Director Johnson’s current term on the Robbinsdale Area School Board expires at the end of 2014.
School Board director Patsy Green nominated Director Johnson for the award. “I nominated Linda for the All-State School Board because of her true dedication to serving our students, families and communities. She is selfless and works tirelessly to ensure all are served equitable and that students in Robbinsdale Area Schools have the best educational opportunities possible. I am thrilled that MSBA also recognized her outstanding work through this award.”
