More than 550 students from Robbinsdale Area Schools took to the stage at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, during the district’s Annual Fall Music Festival at Orchestra Hall.

The concert featured performances from Robbinsdale Armstrong and Cooper Bel Canto, Cantori, Concert Choirs, Symphonic Bands and Symphonic Orchestras. The Robbinsdale Elementary All-District Choir also performed. The guest conductor for the event was Dr. Michael McGaghie from Macalaster College.

The combined Symphonic Bands played the American premier of “The Last Giant” by Otto M. Schwarz.
The combined choirs and orchestras performed selections from “Carmina Burana” by Carl Orff, ending the concert with a standing ovation from the audience after closing the show with a second rendition of the opera's signature piece, "O Fortuna."

Organizers of the event noted students last performed "Carmina Burana" in 2010, meaning many of this year's 12th-grade students performed this work as 5th-grade students in the All-District Choir.
