2020 State of the District Address

State of the District event flyerThe community is invited to attend Robbinsdale Area Schools State of the District Address on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Cooper High School, 6:30 p.m. This annual event features student performances, staff and student recognition, and keynote remarks from Carlton D. Jenkins, Ph.D., Superintendent of Robbinsdale Area Schools.

The evening’s emcee will be Luis Hammer, senior at Robbinsdale Armstrong High School. Luis had a strong year on Armstrong’s debate team, and finished as a State Semi-Finalist (top 4) in the MSHSL State Debate tournament. Earlier this school year, Luis was also recognized as a scholar in the National Hispanic Recognition Program, scoring in the top 2.5% among Hispanic and Latino PSAT/NMSQT test takers.

During the State of the District, Dr. Jenkins will present ‘Butterfly’ awards to honor high school seniors who have shown evidence of excellence while positively impacting others. This is the fourth year Robbinsdale Area Schools will present students with Butterfly awards.

The evening will conclude with a social hour in the foyer, with desserts created by Cooper’s culinary arts students.
