Night of Service posterRobbinsdale Area Schools students, families and staff are working collaboratively to give back to our neighbors in need. The 2nd Annual “Night of Service” event allows the community to come together on Thursday, January 23, 2020, to participate in numerous service activities and projects.

Families and community members can stop by various “DO GOOD” service tables to make and assemble goods and packages for donations, which will be delivered through community service partners to our neighbors in need. Service projects are planned for all ages.

Donations for the event are being accepted, which will in turn be donated after the event. The community can drop off donations prior to the event at Lakeview, Robbinsdale Middle or Cooper, or can be brought the night of the event. Suggested donations include: travel size tissues, shampoo or conditioner; deodorant, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, chapstick or feminine hygiene products; fleece fabric, play-doh, new or gently-used toys, games or books.

The event is hosted by the International Baccalaureate Programmes (IB) of Lakeview Elementary, Robbinsdale Middle and Cooper High School. Developing internationally-minded students is key to all IB programs. IB learners strive to be inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective.

The Night of Service planning team includes IB Coordinators Molly James and Teri Greenstein (Lakeview), Jennifer Holtgrewe (RMS), and Kari Christensen and Jodie Meyer (Cooper).
