Students above the Baie des Anges in Nice, FranceSixteen Armstrong High School students studying French spent 17 days in France this summer along with teachers Mark Mertens and Rebecca Larson. Students visited Paris, Normandy, the Loire Valley, Provence, the French Riviera and Monaco.

"Outside of seeing the traditional Parisian landmarks, students attended a fashion show near the Champs-Elysees, waded in the English Channel around Mont St. Michel, toured a Vouvray vineyard, watched a bull festival in a Roman arena, rode horses along the beaches of Camargue, and ate boeuf bourguignon and fondue savoyarde," Mr. Mertens said. "Students stayed with host families for a week along the Mediterranean Sea near Nice, which allowed them to practice their French skills while being immersed in French culture," said Ms. Larson.
