Dear Robbinsdale Area Schools Families,

We thank our students, families and staff for their understanding, patience and support during this unprecedented time navigating the rapidly evolving COVID-19 pandemic. The health and safety of our students, families, staff and community remain our top priorities. Please carefully read through all items (below) as there have been updates since our communication on this topic yesterday.

As this situation rapidly evolves, we continue working with our seven cities, nonprofits and private organizations to provide additional assistance and resources to our families. We will continue to communicate with our families as new information and resources develop.

UPDATE - Child care Information for Emergency Workers (includes specified healthcare workers) with School-Age Children

Please note, the list of qualifying workers has expanded. For the definition of Tier 1 and Tier 2 emergency workers, please follow this link.


In compliance with Governor Tim Walz’s Executive Order 20-02, Adventure Club will only be open to children (grades K-5) of Emergency Workers in Tier 1 and Essential Tier 2 Workers Wednesday, March 18 through Friday, March 20, 2020. There is no cost for child care services during normal school hours for children Emergency Workers in Tier 1 and Essential Tier 2.

Spring Break for Robbinsdale Area Schools is Monday, March 23 through Friday, March 27, 2020. In compliance with Governor Walz’s Executive Order 20-02, no programming, including childcare for Emergency Workers, will be provided during the District’s previously scheduled Spring Break.

Adventure Club Registration for Emergency Workers
If you have any questions, please call our Adventure Club office at 763-504-5320. Please follow the registration steps below, including current Adventure Club families:

-- If you are a specified Emergency Worker in Tier 1 or an Essential Tier 2 Worker, as defined above, please call us at 763-504-5320 763-504-6990 to register.

-- Students may attend any of these nine sites: Forest, Lakeview, Neill, Noble, Pilgrim Lane, RSI, SEA, Sonnesyn or Zachary Lane.

-- If your student does not currently attend Adventure Club, please be advised there will be information you will need to provide. This information is required for the safety of your student.

-- Please provide proof of your status as an Emergency Worker in Tier 1 or an Essential Tier 2 Worker (based on the MDE definition) upon drop-off on the first day of attendance (such as an employee Work Badge or a letter of verification from employer).

-- Please indicate whether your child requires breakfast, lunch and bus transportation to attend childcare during registration.

We understand the significant impact the statewide closure of schools and programming may have on your family. For any child care resource questions, please contact the State Information Hotline at the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 651-297-1304.
