District and School Communication Channels
Posted on 08/27/2019
Welcome to the 2019-20 School Year! Throughout this year, you can expect regular communication from Robbinsdale Area Schools as well as your child's school. Besides email, the primary methods of communication include:

Schoology: This system provides information about your child's classes, including a description of the class and expectations. Teachers may use the system to provide class announcements, assignment information, grades and online learning resources for their students. Fall class information will be available on the first day of school. Click here for more information about this Parent Portal.

Seesaw (Grades K-3): New this school year, Seesaw is a communications tool for students in grades K-3 (some classrooms have been early adopters in previous school years). Seesaw is a digital journal for students to demonstrate learning across all curricular areas. Students can create video, audio and drawings in response to classroom learning. Items created can easily be shared through the family Seesaw app to communicate learning. Look for more information from your child's teacher.

Infinite Campus: The information available through this system includes grades, attendance, discipline, food service balance, unofficial transcripts, testing results, school contact information and emergency contact information. Infinite Campus controls how you receive important school and district information via email, text, voice call, etc. To make changes to these settings, log into Infinite Campus, select User Account found on the left side menu, then select Contact Preferences. Important: General Notifications is how parents/guardians are informed of weather updates, school closings and other important school information. Please keep this option checked for email, voice and text. Click here for more information about this Parent Portal.

Robocalls: Occasional phone messages regarding school updates or important information.

District and School Websites: District and school information, activities, the Student Handbook, calendar and news announcements are available on our websites.

Social Media: The District regularly posts information and stories on our Facebook and Twitter channels. All schools also have Facebook pages, and many have Twitter accounts.

Newsletters: The District emails families the "Discover" newsletter. All schools also regularly communicate with families via their own newsletters.
