Newly Created District Fine Arts Coordinator Position Affirms District 281’s Commitment to the Arts

Sara PrindivilleRobbinsdale Area Schools has a strong tradition of arts education, and is deeply committed in continuing this tradition. As such, the district is pleased to announce Sarah Prindiville has been offered and accepted a newly created District Fine Arts Coordinator position, effective July 1, 2019.

Ms. Prindiville has worked in Robbinsdale Area Schools since 2009. She is currently an elementary classroom music specialist at Meadow Lake Elementary. Prior to this appointment, she served as the Fine Arts and Gifted Education Coordinator for Robbinsdale Area Schools. An alumna of our district, Ms. Prindiville holds a Master of Arts degree from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Minnesota (summa cum laude).

“As a graduate of Robbinsdale Cooper High School, I am proud to support the teachers and students of Robbinsdale Area Schools,” Ms. Prindiville said.

During the 2017-18 school year, Ms. Prindiville participated on the standards revision committee at the Minnesota Department of Education. Additionally, she has served on the Q-Comp Governing Board, Professional Learning Advisory Committee and has been co-chair of the district’s Comprehensive Arts Planning Project Committee (CAPP).

“Our district believes the arts can be transformative in meeting the social-emotional and academic needs of our students,” said Dr. Carlton D. Jenkins, Superintendent of Robbinsdale Area Schools. “Ms. Prindiville will assist our district in our continued quest in writing grants and engaging in fundraising to support the arts and creating expanded experiential, high-quality educational opportunities for all children,” he said.

In her new position, Ms. Prindiville will help all 17 schools within the district intentionally incorporate arts into the curriculum in alignment with their building-wide instructional plans. The Robbinsdale Area Schools CAPP leadership team will also be guided by Ms. Prindiville.
