We are pleased to announce Carrie Ehn, 5th grade teacher at the School of Engineering and Arts (SEA), has won the Minnesota Science Teachers Association 2018 Award for Elementary Science Teaching.

Each year, the Minnesota Science Teachers Association (MnSTA) recognizes an elementary teacher and a secondary teacher for excellence in science teaching. “Carrie brings science lessons to life with real-world application,” said SEA Principal Dr. Heather Hanson. “She delivers demonstrations and examples in everyday life to illustrate and explain scientific facts. The entire SEA School community is incredibly proud of her for receiving the MnSTA Science Teacher Award,” Hanson said.

Ms. Ehn will be recognized at MnSTA’s annual conference in November in St. Cloud, MN. Award recipients also receive a $1,000 grant for use in their classroom.

“I am greatly honored and thrilled to be named the MN Elementary Science Teacher for 2018,” said Carrie Ehn. Mrs. Ehn is a proud ‘hometown’ teacher, having attended school at Zachary Lane, Plymouth Middle School and then graduating from Cooper High School. “There have been many wonderful educators, students and community members who have influenced my teaching over the years. I am also blessed to work with an amazing staff at SEA where I daily experience seeing the wonder and enthusiasm for learning in my students,” she said.
