2020-2021 School Year
Planning for the 2020-2021 School Year
Minnesota public school districts and charter schools must follow guidance from the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) in planning for the 2020-2021 school year.
Governor Walz and the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) are expected to announce plans for the upcoming school year on Thursday, July 30, 2020. MDE, in collaboration with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), has developed three scenarios for the 2020-2021 school year:
- In-person learning for all students
- Hybrid learning with strict social distancing and capacity limits
- Distance learning
Our administrative cabinet, along with a comprehensive district-wide team, is planning for each of these possible scenarios in accordance with MDH's 2020-2021 Planning Guidance for Schools and MDE's 2020-2021 Planning Guidance for Minnesota Public Schools.
The first week of August we are planning to meet (virtually) with a variety of stakeholders, including families and staff, to gather additional feedback and review survey data. Families will receive a follow up communication from their student’s principal with further details.
The second week of August we are expecting to release our plan for the 2020-2021 school year. Thank you for your continued partnership as we remain committed to delivering high-quality and equitable learning experiences for our students, with health and safety as our top priorities.
