2021 Superintendent Search
The School Board has begun the search for the District's next superintendent.
The Board has contracted with School Exec Connect to lead the superintendent candidate search process. Candidates will be recruited February 26 - April 2, with interviews taking place the week of April 12. The search will be advertised statewide and nationally. School Exec Connect will accept applications and recruit candidates who match the superintendent profile.
Superintendent Finalist Interviews - open community webinars April 15 and 16
On April 13, after interviewing five candidates, the Board selected two finalists to move forward to final round interviews.
The Board invites the community to join the open community webinar on April 15 to meet Dr. Kim Hiel and April 16 to meet David Engstrom.
The community will have an opportunity to submit questions for each finalist during the webinar. Questions can be submitted during each interview through the Zoom webinar Q&A feature. After each session, the community can provide feedback through an online survey.
Superintendent Finalist Interviews with the School Board - April 15 and 16
The School Board will conduct interviews with the finalists. These are public interviews and the community is invited to observe. The meetings will be livestreamed (links will be posted in the video viewer below).

On Thursday, April 8, the School Board approved seven first round candidates. First round and finalist interviews will take place the week of April 12.

February 26, 2021: Letter sent with invitation to district stakeholders to provide feedback through confidential Survey Monkey form
March 1 - 10: Online survey available for district stakeholders
March 11, 12: Focus Groups meet to provide input into the "New Superintendent Profile"
March 15: The Board will hear a report, at its regular 7 p.m. meeting, on the focus group and survey findings and will be requested to take action on the desired criteria for the next superintendent
April 8: Candidates will be presented to the Board
April 12, 13: First Board interviews
April 13: Board will narrow choices to two to three candidates
April 15, 16: The two candidates will meet with students, staff, and community members, ending the day with a community webinar and final interview with the Board
By April 16: Board will narrow the choice to one finalist
April 19: Anticipated board action on a contract with the finalist
July 1, 2021: New superintendent assumes duties
