Armstrong senior Moses Kamara named Mr. Soccer for Class AAA

Capping off a tremendous soccer career at Armstrong High School (AHS), Moses Kamara said he was surprised and shocked at being named Mr. Soccer for Class AAA by the Minnesota State High School Soccer Coaches Association. This annual career recognition award is given to a senior in each size classification of competition, making Kamara one of three Mr. Soccer winners across Minnesota.

“It feels great to be recognized as a top player in the whole state,” said Kamara. “Being on the soccer team at Armstrong really taught me a lot. I met some of my best friends on this team, and that’s something I will never forget.”

A forward for the Falcons, Kamara recorded 26 goals and four assists this season, totaling 71 goals in his four years on the team. He was also recently named to the All-Minnesota boys soccer team, a list of the top 25 players in the state, by the Star Tribune for the second year in a row.

In addition to his striking performances on the soccer team, Kamara is also a kicker on the AHS football team.

“To all the younger guys coming up in the Armstrong program, keep working because hard work really does pay off, and this could be you some day.”

Kamara shared that his goal after graduating from AHS this spring is to continue his soccer career at the Division I college level.
