District Orchestra Festival on March 7

Robbinsdale Area Schools (Rdale) will celebrate musical collaboration at the annual District Orchestra Festival at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, in the Cooper High School gymnasium.

This free festival has a long history going back at least 40 years, and will feature approximately 380 student musicians from across Rdale, who will come together to showcase their skills and hard work for the community.

Orchestras taking part in the event include:

  • Fifth Grade Orchestras
  • Eighth Grade Orchestras
  • Ninth Grade Orchestras
  • Armstrong High School Chamber Strings and Concertino Orchestra
  • Cooper High School Chamber Strings and Concertino Orchestra

“The spring Orchestra Festival has been part of the district orchestra program for roughly four decades,” said Kevin Martin, orchestra director at Armstrong High School. “Over the years, it has featured thousands of Robbinsdale orchestra students as well as guest conductors from around the state.”

The festival is one of various concerts throughout the school year, with many being recorded and archived at www.rdale.org/academics/high-school-fine-arts.
