Help for the holidays

We invite family members of our students to visit our Tools for Families web page to find links to a variety of resources, including food banks, housing, and mental health help.

In addition to these general resources, here are two holiday-specific items:

Toys

Registration for the 2024 Twin Cities Toy Shop is now open. The Salvation Army's Angel Tree offers toys for kids 0-14. Parents must provide required documentation: proof of address (current piece of mail); a picture ID for the adult picking up toys; and an ID for each child in the household (such as a medical card, birth certificate, school ID, social security card, etc.).

Registration is open until Dec. 20 or until Angel Tree reaches capacity. Families will receive an email with a specific appointment time at one of three locations, the week of Dec. 9.

Meal on Dec. 25

The Local, a restaurant at 931 Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis, is offering a free meal between noon and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 25. No pass or ticket is required for entry.
