We are excited to announce Jen Smith has accepted the role of head Principal at Neill Elementary. Smith has been employed in the district since 2007; she begins her new role on Monday, August 31 2020.
“We are so fortunate to have such highly-qualified administrators in our district,” said Dr. Stephanie Burrage, interim Superintendent of Robbinsdale Area Schools. “Jen Smith is a strong advocate for all students and will serve the Neill community well,” she continued.
Ms. Smith has served as Assistant Principal of Noble Elementary since 2017. Prior to that, she worked at Sonnesyn Elementary from 2011-2017 as a Behavior Specialist, Instructional Coach and Kindergarten teacher. She also was a Kindergarten teacher at Zachary Lane Elementary during the 2010-2011 school year, and as an early childhood special education teacher in the district from 2007-2010. Previously, she served as an early childhood special education teacher from 2000-2007 at Roseville Area Schools, Mounds View Public Schools and Fraser School in Richfield.
“I am eager to join the Neill family and excited to be able to continue to serve the families of Robbinsdale Area Schools,” Smith said. “I look forward to working with Neill staff to create a respectful, nurturing and challenging learning environment for all students,” she continued.
Ms. Smith received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and obtained her Master’s degree and administrative license from Hamline University. She holds certifications as K-12 Principal, Birth-Age 6 in Early Childhood Special Education, and PreK-3 Early Childhood Education.
