Meet Jessica Richter, new head of Early Childhood

Jessica Richter has been a specialist in the field of early childhood for 19 years and is thrilled to work for Robbinsdale Area Schools as the new Early Learning Supervisor of the Early Childhood department. She joined the district in September.

“I have always loved trying to figure out how young children's minds work,” she said, “and how to make connections with them.”

In her new role in the district, Jessica plans to continue the adult and child programming for which we are well known, and bring in different ideas and perspectives too.

“Early Childhood is when children start making neural connections in their brain at an astronomical rate,” she says. “Our youngest students have the ability to make attachments, learn, and communicate in ways that can help them for the rest of their lives.”

Jessica has worked in the Osseo, St. Michael-Albertville, and Brooklyn Center School districts. Her experience includes before/after-school care, Park and Recreation, and other programs. Her many roles include ECFE teacher, pre-K teacher, and parent educator, and most recently she served as director of early learning for Brooklyn Center.

“It brings me energy, positivity and hope to know that adults can make a difference in every child's life, every day, as long as we take the time to see and hear them.”
