Scholarship available for student pursuing a career in education

The Robbinsdale Association of Retired Educators (RARE) is once again awarding a scholarship to an individual interested in a career in teaching.

Those interesting in applying must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Completed at least two years of college by September 2023 with plans to become a teacher.
  • An individual who wishes to make a career change within education.
  • A teacher wishing to change teaching fields.

Applicants should have a connection to Robbinsdale Area Schools, preferably as a graduate, current teacher, or current resident.

The application process

Please submit:

  • A short autobiographical essay including education, occupational experiences
  • Transcript of credits
  • One-paragraph statement describing financial needs
  • Any additional information deemed important to your situation
  • Tell us about your connection to Rdale

Applications need be postmarked by Monday, May 1, 2023 and mailed to:

Candidates will be contacted by mail to inform them of the Committee decision by the end of May. Recipients will be invited to attend a RARE luncheon to accept this award. The dollar amount of the scholarships(s) given each year will depend upon the yearly donations from retired educators and the number of worthy applicants.
