Students invited to participate in “Mayor for a Day” Essay Contest

The League of Minnesota Cities is accepting entries for its annual “Mayor for a Day Essay Contest” – which invites fourth, fifth and sixth grade students from around Minnesota to submit essays that answer the prompt: “What would you do if you were mayor for a day?”

To participate, students may submit essays via an online form, email or postal service. Three overall contest winners will be chosen to receive $100, as well as recognition in the League of Minnesota Cities publication, Minnesota Cities.

Essays should range from 125-300 words and only one entry per student is permitted. Deadline for submissions is Friday, Dec. 13. Winners will be notified in January 2025.
