The results are in, and voters in Robbinsdale Area Schools (Rdale) have approved the renewal of the district’s Capital Projects Technology Levy, which supports essential technology investments across the district. Check out the thank you video.

The ballot question passed with 37,736 yes votes – or 74.47 percent of the vote, and 12,938 no votes on the question, which was 25.53 percent of the vote.

“This result is a testament to our community’s dedication to our students and our school district – to providing every student with the tools they need to thrive academically and beyond,” said Superintendent Dr. Teri Staloch. “With this renewal, the district can maintain up-to-date technology that fosters engaging learning environments, ensures safety across our schools, and strengthens support for every student’s unique journey.”

This renewal ensures ongoing resources that are vital for preparing students for success in a digitally connected world, while also enhancing safety measures and bolstering critical support systems across the district.

The levy renewal will fund three core areas of technology needs moving forward:

Technology for Learning – This includes expanding students’ access to high-quality digital tools and educational software. By keeping our technology infrastructure current, the district can continue offering innovative and adaptable learning experiences that cater to each student’s needs, providing them with skills essential in today’s workforce.

Technology for Safer Schools – The approved funding will support critical safety enhancements, such as advanced monitoring systems and secure entry technologies. These investments will help us maintain a safe learning environment that ensures students, staff, and families can focus on learning.

Technology for Support – The levy renewal will provide staff with effective and reliable technology and teaching tools from data management that aids decision-making to communication tools that keep families connected with their students’ learning journey.

The results will become official once canvassed by the School Board at its meeting on Nov. 12, 2024. For all of the 2024 election results and information, please visit the Minnesota Secretary of State’s website.
