What is Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030

Together we can create the school experience our students want, need, and deserve

Dear Robbinsdale Community,

I am thrilled to introduce you to Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030, a bold initiative that invites us to dream big about the future of Robbinsdale Area Schools (Rdale). This effort represents an incredible opportunity to shape a vision that inspires and educates all learners to develop their unique potential and positively contribute to their community.

Through this initiative, we are asking important questions about what our students, families, and staff want, need, and deserve to thrive. Our approach includes three essential components: a Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 Team composed of dedicated leaders; a community-wide survey to capture your insights; and meaningful community engagement to foster collaboration and dialogue and gather voices from people that a survey simply can't. Once complete, the survey and community engagement efforts will be carefully studied by the Vision 2030 Team, and will be helpful in guiding their recommendations and shape the direction of Rdale moving forward.

We are committed to creating a future that reflects the aspirations of our students, families, and broader community. Your voice is critical in this process, and I encourage you to participate in the survey, attend upcoming engagement events, and share your ideas with us.

Vision 2030 Team

**What is the Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 Team?**

The 46-member Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 Team was intentionally designed to reflect the diverse demographics of Robbinsdale Area Schools. Meeting for one, four-hour evening each month (or more) through August, 2025, the team took a comprehensive look at the district, studying its operations, finances, demographics, programs, and challenges. Their work culminated in a detailed report with recommendations for the school board in September of 2025 on how to transform and improve education in the district. Their recommendations for changes include service delivery, building closures or updates, program changes, and more as we Reimagine Rdale together.

Community Survey

**What is the Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 Community Survey?**

The Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 Community Survey was an essential tool to gather input from students, families, staff, and community members about the future of Robbinsdale Area Schools. Open to all past and current members of the Rdale school community, the survey invited participants to share their priorities, concerns, and ideas on critical topics such as academics, facilities, equity, and financial sustainability. Feedback from the survey directly informed the Vision 2030 Team’s work, ensuring that the community’s voice plays a central role in shaping recommendations for the district’s future. The survey opened Jan. 9, 2025.

Community Engagement

**What is Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 Community Engagement?**

Community engagement is at the heart of the Reimagine Rdale process, with multiple opportunities for students, families, staff, and community members to share their perspectives. In February and March 2025, there were eight district-wide community events, including two virtual sessions. Four of these events specifically engaged our Indigenous, Pan African, Somali, and Latino affinity groups. During that time, staff meetings were held at each district site, and separate student meetings took place at every school, from elementary through high school.

To reach even more voices, we hosted pop-up engagement events at various locations around the district, such as apartment buildings, faith organizations, and community meeting spaces, connecting with diverse groups across Robbinsdale. Additionally, we hosted tables with engagement opportunities at popular community events like Empty Bowls, the Bird Bash, and the Great Rdale Get-Together.

These efforts ensure that all voices are heard and incorporated into the Vision 2030 Team’s recommendations, fostering a collaborative and inclusive vision for the district’s future.
