At its April 6, 2026, study session, the Robbinsdale Area Schools Board of Education continued its work on long-range facilities and program planning as part of Phase II of Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030.

As the school year enters its final months, Robbinsdale Area Schools is preparing for a smooth transition into 2026-27. Planning is underway across the district, and all staff play a key role in supporting students and ensuring a successful start to the next school year.

At its March 16, 2026, meeting, the Robbinsdale Area Schools Board of Education continued discussion on long-range facilities planning as part of Phase II of Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030.

At its March 2, 2026, meeting, the Robbinsdale Area Schools Board of Education provided early direction on Phase II of the Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 process, signaling support for continued planning toward a one-high-school model centered on renovating and repurposing existing district facilities.

Last year, Robbinsdale Area Schools asked our community a simple but important question: What should education and our schools look like in the years ahead? 

Through Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030, we listened carefully to students, families and staff about what matters most as we build the school district our students want, need and deserve. Those conversations were honest, thoughtful and sometimes difficult, but they were exactly what our district needed to begin shaping a stronger future together.

Across Rdale, teams are actively preparing for the 2026-27 school year. Our focus is simple and steady: ensuring that every student enters next year supported, welcomed, and ready to learn.

As part of our district’s continued work to stabilize our finances through our Statutory Operating Debt (SOD) plan, and as we look ahead to the long-term, future-focused vision outlined in Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030, we are preparing for an important change to the middle school schedule beginning next school year: a shift from a seven-period day to a six-period day.

This is an important update about in-district transfers for students entering grades 6-12 in the 2026-27 school year.

Robbinsdale Area Schools has finalized building principal assignments for the 2026-27 school year following School Board approval of the district’s Statutory Operating Debt (SOD) plan.

At its business meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, the Robbinsdale Area Schools Board of Education approved the district’s Statutory Operating Debt (SOD) plan, as well as the boundary changes for the 2026-27 school year previously shared with the community.

The School Board approved changes to FAIR Crystal’s middle school program beginning in 2026-27, while maintaining the FAIR Pilgrim Lane elementary magnet program, as part of ongoing Vision 2030 and SOD planning.

The School Board will hold its regular Business Meeting on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026. The district is sharing key details to help community members plan their participation.

We are writing to share an important update for families who live in Minneapolis and open-enroll into Robbinsdale Area Schools and currently receive district-provided bus transportation.

The School Board has approved the first set of facility closures as part of the district’s Statutory Operating Debt plan. Transition planning will now begin, with additional Board decisions ahead.

The Robbinsdale Area Schools Board of Education held a study session on Monday, Dec. 8, as part of its ongoing work to address the district’s plan to address its statutory operating debt (SOD) and move forward with Phase I of Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030. Board members reviewed the facility recommendations previously discussed, received additional information requested at the Nov. 24 meeting, and previewed procedures for the Dec. 15 public hearing on school closures. 

The School Board took required steps on Nov. 17 to move potential school closures to a December public hearing following extensive discussion about elementary options.

Robbinsdale Area Schools administration shared updated recommendations for building closures and facility repurposing at the Nov. 3 Board of Education meeting, marking another step forward in Phase I of Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 and the district’s plan to address its statutory operating debt (SOD).

District administration presented the first round of facility options to the Board of Education Oct. 20 as part of the ongoing Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 process and the district’s statutory operating debt (SOD) plan to restore long-term financial stability.

Robbinsdale Area Schools is continuing to work on the creation of a Statutory Operating Debt Plan, while focusing on what is best for students and balancing short-term and long-term goals.

With the Vision 2030 Team’s recommendations complete, Rdale is entering the implementation phase: a multi-year, community-informed process that will stabilize finances, align programs and facilities, and fulfill the district’s long-term vision by 2030.

After eight months of study, learning, and collaboration, the Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 Team presented its final report and recommendations to the Robbinsdale Area Schools (Rdale) Board of Education on Sept. 23, 2025.

At its final meeting on Sept. 9, the Vision 2030 Team reached consensus on academic and facilities recommendations, completing its draft roadmap for Rdale’s future.

The Vision 2030 Team continued its work on Aug. 25, reaching consensus on facilities scenarios and refining academic priorities to shape Rdale’s future.

The Vision 2030 Team met on Aug. 13 to refine facility configuration options and review academic recommendations, ensuring students remain at the center of future planning.

The Vision 2030 Team met on July 29 to connect academic priorities with enrollment and facility planning. Members explored district size, school configuration options, and identified non-negotiables for future planning.

The Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 Team gathered on July 10 for its seventh meeting.

On June 17, the Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 Team left the meeting room behind and hit the road for a full-day field trip across the Twin Cities metro area.

At its May 20 meeting, the Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 Team studied the condition and capacity of Rdale’s school buildings—ranking facilities based on data and discussing how to align future investments with instructional priorities and long-term sustainability.

Dr. Staloch: More than 16,000 voices are shaping the future of Rdale as we navigate budget challenges and boldly plan for the schools our students need—today and tomorrow.

This week, the Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 Team met at FAIR School Crystal to continue shaping the future of Robbinsdale Area Schools.

At its April meeting, the Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 Team explored school safety infrastructure and what great teaching looks like in every classroom—aligning efforts to create safe, engaging, and empowering learning environments for all Rdale students.

This week marked the final stretch of the Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 community engagement phase.

With formal staff and community meetings now complete, our team hit the streets this week to connect directly with families and community members at local gathering spots.

This week, Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 centered student voice as we wrapped up in-class engagement activities.

This week, the Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 process turned its focus squarely on the student experience, with powerful conversations across schools and within the Vision 2030 Team.

The Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 Team convened for its third session on March 25 at Armstrong High School, continuing its work to build a sustainable and student-centered future for Robbinsdale Area Schools.

March 17-21, the Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 process continued to grow deeper and more inclusive as we held another targeted community engagement event and wrapped up student conversations at Cooper High School.

This week, we continued our Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 engagement efforts, ensuring that voices from across the district—students, families, staff, and community members—are helping shape the future of Robbinsdale Area Schools.

This week marked a major milestone in the Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 process as we kicked off student engagement.

To date, more than 5,425 people have taken the survey, attended a community or staff meeting, or participated in the Vision Team.

The Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 Team reconvened on Feb. 25 at Cooper High School for its second meeting, continuing its comprehensive study of the district.
