Our goal is to provide exemplary technology access, support and leadership to staff, students and families. We provide a wide variety of services to the district to ensure the learning which takes place every day is engaging, relevant and fits the needs of our learners.
Students in Kindergarten through 11th grade are able to continue using their district-issued technology device over the summer months for educational purposes.
Technology support is available on a limited basis over the summer. If you need tech support, or would like to return a device, choose from one of these options:
Families should continue to follow the District's Parent Use Agreement and Acceptable Use policy.
Personalized Learning (PerL) with 1:1 Devices
Technology is an important tool to effectively and efficiently fulfill our district's mission through personalize teaching and learning. Thanks to our community's support from a 2014 Technology Levy, Robbinsdale Area Schools launched an initiative to provide a portable digital device (Chromebooks) for every student in grades 5-12, which students are allowed to bring home during the school year. Students in 4th grade also have their own Chromebooks, but keep them at school. Students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade use a combination of iPads and Chromebooks in the classroom.
Project goals focus on instructional strategies that significantly improve learning across all subjects. These include goal setting, targeted feedback, culturally relevant teaching, and the Four Cs (critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.)
Chromebook insurance is available for students in 5th through 12th grades. More information, along with payment instructions, can be found on our PerL 1:1 website.
