First day of school; 2024-25 calendar

Preschool

• 5-day Preschool classes will begin on Monday, September 9.

Kindergarten

A successful start is important for our kindergarten students. To support them and their families, kindergartners have a different start to the school year than our older students. This provides an opportunity for teachers to begin learning about our students and offer a more personalized start to the year.  Here are the details:

• On Tuesday, Sept. 3 and Wednesday, Sept. 4 2024, kindergarten students do not attend school. Instead, students and their parents/guardians will meet briefly, one-on-one, with their kindergarten teachers. Schools will work with families to schedule these appointments prior to Sept. 4.
• On Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, half of our kindergarteners will have their first day of school. 
• On Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, the other half of our kindergarteners will have their first day of school. 
  • This information will be shared by principals before the first day of school.
• Beginning Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, all kindergarten students will attend school. 

Grades 1-12

• Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024, is the first day of the 2024-25 school year for grades 1-5, 6 and 9.
• Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024, is the first day of the 2024-25 school year for grades 7-8 and 10-12.
