Back-to-school information
Looking for 2025-26 back-to-school information, such as supply lists or open house dates? We've got you covered.
Be sure to check your mailbox starting in mid-August for our back-to-school mailer, which will include some basic information you need before the school year begins, including: details about immunizations, busing, applying for educational benefits, and more.

First day of school; 2025-26 calendar
Grades 1-5, 6 and 9
- TUESDAY, SEPT. 2 -- Students in transitional grades 6 and 9 start school a day earlier than their middle and high school peers to give them an opportunity to adjust to their new school.
- At middle school, this includes W.E.B. student leaders.
Grades 7-8, 10-12
- WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 3 -- Most middle and high school students will begin school on the second day of the academic year.
Kindergarten
Kindergarten students will not attend regular classes on Tuesday, Sept. 2 or Wednesday, Sept. 3. Instead, students and their parents/guardians will have a brief, one-on-one welcome meeting with their student's kindergarten teacher. These meetings are a special opportunity to get to know each other, ease first-day nerves, and begin building a strong partnership. Schools will contact families to schedule appointments.
- On Thursday, Sept. 4, half of our kindergarteners (last names A-M) will have their first day of school.
- On Friday, Sept. 5, the other half of our kindergarteners (last names N-Z) will have their first day of school.
- All kindergarten students will then be in attendance together beginning Monday, Sept. 8.
Other programs
- All students at Robbinsdale Academy-Highview and Robbinsdale Virtual Academy (RVA) will begin school on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
- Students at Robbinsdale Transition Center (RTC) will also begin school on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
- Special education center-based students will begin school on the same day as their assigned school and grade level.
- Preschool classes will begin Monday, Sept. 8, which follows the first week of school.
